QR code table stand for restaurants: menu and reviews
A stand on every table with the menu QR code saves paper, updates without reprinting anything and lasts much longer than a laminated sheet. And the same stand by the till, linking to your Google reviews, is one of the simplest ways to get more ratings.
Two uses that work
- The digital menu. Customers scan and see the menu on their phone. If you change a dish or a price, you update the menu on your website or PDF and the code keeps working, with no reprinting.
- “Review us”. The code opens your Google profile straight on the review form. The fewer steps customers take, the more reviews you get.
You can also use it for the venue's Wi-Fi, your Instagram or a booking form. What matters is that each stand has one code with one purpose and a short text explaining it.
Which link to use
- For the menu: the address of the page or PDF where it's published. Always keep the same address and change the content; if you change the address, every stand stops working.
- For reviews: your Google Business Profile usually has an option to share a link that asks for a review. Copy it and paste it into the generator.
Before printing, open the link on your phone to check it goes exactly where you want.
How to make it, step by step
- Open the generator and paste the link.
- Choose the “Table stand” format.
- Add short raised text that says what it's for: “Menu”, “Scan for the menu” or “Review us”. You can add an emoji too.
- Choose the two colors. Light base and dark code is the safest; to match your venue, try a cream or wood-tone base with a black or dark brown code.
- Scan the on-screen code with your phone and download the 3MF file.
What the stand looks like
The stand prints as two flat parts: a plate with the code and a foot with an angled slot, designed to hold the plate without glue. Printing the plate flat gives the code sharp edges, and the color change only affects the last few layers, so you can also print it on a single-filament printer by changing color mid-print.
If the plate is a little loose in the slot, a drop of glue or a piece of double-sided tape holds it in place. If it's too tight, lightly sand the bottom edge.
Tips for everyday use
- Size: a 60–80 mm code scans comfortably from a seated position.
- Cleaning: PLA handles a damp cloth well, but not the dishwasher or harsh cleaning products.
- Light: on sunny terraces, matte filament avoids the reflections that make scanning harder.
- Test with real customers: put out one or two stands before printing one for every table, and adjust the size or text if anyone struggles to scan it.
